KANSAS CITY, KAN. — Farmer-owned dairy manufacturer Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) introduced the latest innovation from its Dairy Pure brand, a shelf-stable milk in aseptic packaging.

DFA shared that the process for manufacturing the on-the-go products involves heating milk to approximately 295 degrees and packaging it in sterile conditions that eliminate bacteria that could cause the milk to spoil.

Dairy Pure’s ready-to-drink format may be stored in a pantry for up to 90 days, DFA said.

With so many consumers eating meals and snacks on the go, DFA said it wanted to capitalize on the trend with a milk option that aligns with busy lifestyles.

The shelf-stable milk, which comes in recyclable packaging, launched at grocery stores throughout the United States this month.

Earlier this year, DFA worked with Tetra Pak and IFF on s shelf-stable milk for Chobani.
