NEW YORK – Food technology company Tomorrow Farms partnered with Perfect Day Inc., to produce a new flavored animal-free dairy milk called Bored Cow.
Bored Cow will debut in three flavors – chocolate, vanilla and strawberry – in early June, when they become available for purchase exclusively on the brand’s website. A fourth “original” flavor will follow later in the summer.
The announcement of the forthcoming product launch followed a $10.5 million fundraising round backed by venture capital firms such as Lowercarbon Capital, Maveron, Valor Siren Venture, Simple Food Ventures and SV Angel.
The animal-free milk from Tomorrow Farms is produced with Perfect Day’s animal-free whey protein, which the companies described as identical to conventional whey protein with up to 97% fewer carbon emissions.
Bored Cow contains 8 grams of protein per cup, with 0 grams of total sugars, and includes the calcium, potassium, vitamin D and vitamin B12 found in traditional dairy milk. The process for making Bored Cow milk involves Tomorrow Farms adding plant-based ingredients to Perfect Day’s animal free whey. The milk contains no lactose, gluten, nuts, hormones or antibiotics.
"We started Tomorrow Farms with a belief that there's a better way to make our favorite foods," said Tomorrow Farms chief executive officer Ben Berman. "That's why we're so happy to be partnering with Perfect Day to bring animal-free dairy milk right to consumers in their homes. We believe the Bored Cow brand will be synonymous with this exciting new category, offering an alternative to cow's milk and plant-based milks that doesn't compromise on taste, nutrition, texture and, most importantly, the future of our planet."
Added Perfect Day co-founder and chief executive officer Ryan Pandya: "These new flavored milks from the visionary team at Tomorrow Farms extend our impact to consumers looking for a fun, planet positive, and nutritious choice for their families. This engaging brand makes the kinder, greener option exciting for the generations who are growing up into the future we are creating."
When Bored Cow launches in June via the brand’s website, it will ship directly to consumers in the continental US.
