SEARCY, ARK. — Specialized health nutrition manufacturer Thrive Frozen Nutrition, Inc. developed a new formula for its gelato.

The company shared that it created Thrive Gelato for healthcare and senior living facilities, as well as sports nutrition programs and people focusing on health and wellness.

The product’s latest version was formulated with people who have difficulty swallowing in mind. The company said it adheres to International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) guidelines, while enhancing Thrive’s fortified product line with a thicker consistency.

The company said its developers worked for two years on the new formula, and its IDDSI 4 Gelato comes in four flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Butter Pecan and Orange Crème. The products are made with skim milk and contain 9 grams of protein per 4 oz cup, as well as 24 vitamins and minerals.

Thrive founder and chief executive officer Jeff Holtz said the IDDSI 4 Gelato formula provides “safe, appealing and texture-appropriate dietary options,” prioritizing consumption and satisfaction.

"For over a decade, our commitment has been to offer delicious and nutritionally rich foods for those with specific dietary needs,” Holtz said, adding that the company was proud to introduce a product that enhances patient outcomes through improved nutrition and enjoyment.
