MILWAUKEE — Pursuing consumers who are new to the blue cheese experience, Saputo USA brand Treasure Cave created a new Mild Blue Cheese that it developed to carry a more moderate flavor profile than its flagship product.

Treasure Cave said it aimed to make this version of its blue cheese more “approachable” by “toning down the boldness” for its mild variety, which it said still reflects the original’s rich and silky texture.

"We've always celebrated blue cheese's unique qualities, but we know those qualities can also make our beloved blue polarizing," explained Jenny Englert, marketing director for Saputo USA. "With our new Mild Blue Cheese, we're now offering a wider spectrum of flavors with varying intensity so apprehensive consumers can decide for themselves exactly how adventurous they want their plates and their palates to be by dialing down the bolder flavor notes."

The creators of the new mild variety said it boasts a buttery mouthfeel and recommended incorporating it into salads and dips, as well as sprinkling it atop wings and steaks.

Treasure Cave’s mild flavor debuted in grocery store cheese aisles throughout the country, in both wedges and crumbles.
