ROSEMONT, ILL – Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) revealed that its next innovation contest for college students will focus on dairy products that provide consumers with health-related benefits.

The 2025 DMI New Product Competition, which is now accepting entries, tasks undergraduate and graduate students in the United States with developing a dairy product that address either heart health, metabolic health, weight management or some combination of the three.

DMI said products with those specific health benefits align with consumer insights gathered by the dairy checkoff.

The student team that wins the competition will be awarded a $10,000 prize, while second place will collect $7,000 and third place will receive $4,000. Additionally, the three other teams that reach the final phase of the contest will each earn $2,000.

DMI shared that the winning teams also will be recognized at the American Dairy Science Association’s annual meeting next year, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Further details on entering the competition are available online at DMI’s website.
