NEW YORK — Cheese snack manufacturer Whisps introduced a new shelf-stable, high protein snack product, Whisps Protein Snackers.
Packaged in multi-compartment snack trays, the new product innovation features Whisps baked cheese bites, premium salami and dried fruit that don’t require refrigeration.
“Our team loves compartment snacks, and we have been watching the growth of that segment, but like all consumers, we found it frustrating that the current offerings in the market need to stay refrigerated and aren’t as convenient because of that,” said John Ghingo, chief executive officer of Whisps. “So we coupled Whisps real baked cheese with premium meat and fruit to create a better-for-you, elevated, protein-rich option adults can truly enjoy anytime, anywhere.”
Whisps partnered with Fratelli Beretta, known for its dry-cured Italian meats, to develop the new keto-friendly, gluten-free snack.
The new Whisps Protein Snackers come in two varieties: Whisps Asiago & Pepper Jack Bites, Milano Salami and Dried Cranberries; and Whisps Parmesan Bites, Calabrese Salami and Dried Papaya.
The products launched at CVS and Stop & Shop stores with a suggested retail price of $2.99 to $3.49 per 1.5 oz pack.
Earlier this year, the snack maker debuted its new Whisps Popped line.
