SEBRING, FLA. — CitraPac is adding a new line of frozen yogurt dessert products under its Nature’s Premium label.

The company’s Dessert Pearls feature a yogurt pearl base mixed with various texture and flavor ingredients, such as shortbread cookie crumbles in its cookies and cream flavor or strawberries in its strawberry cheesecake flavor.

Additional flavors include chocolate mint and banana pudding.

The product is made using CitraPac’s proprietary cryogenic technology, which allows Dessert Pearls to maintain their shape and be stored in standard freezer temperatures.

“The frozen dessert category has an opportunity to grow with innovative, single-serve portions that are hassle-free,” said Hal Woodyard, senior vice president of sales and business development at CitraPac. “The category is also primed for growth as consumer awareness of food waste issues has climbed with economic pressures where shoppers want the most value out of their purchases.”

Dessert Pearls are set to be available in four-count packs of single-serve containers at major grocers beginning in September. The treats join existing Fruit Pearls varieties in the Nature’s Premium portfolio.
