LOS ANGELES – Anyone searching for a dessert option this National Pickle Day might find a solution in the form of ice cream. Modern frozen snack maker My/Mochi announced it is celebrating the “holiday” on Nov. 14 by launching a Classic Pickle flavor of its mochi ice cream.
The company described the limited time treat as “a creamy twist on the pickle ball.” The snack features a pickle-inspired flavor of premium ice cream wrapped in soft mochi dough.
"My/Mochi is all about stretching the possibilities of what can be done with mochi, so we are constantly looking at the trends and flavors people are buzzing about to bring more fun and flavor to the ice cream category," said Brigette Wolf, chief marketing officer. "The pickle trend is so hot right now, so we thought, 'let's do something cool' that only we could pull off in a way that would be premium and delicious. We're pretty tickled about our pickle product and hope others are too.”
The special flavor is gluten-free, nut-free, made with no artificial ingredients and contains 80 calories per serving, the company said.
My/Mochi said the limited-edition Classic Pickle snacks are being sold at select California retailers, as well as online through the company’s website.
