WEBSTERVILLE, VT. – Vermont Creamery secured a 2022 gold sofi award from the Specialty Food Association for its Sea Salt Cultured Butter, marking the artisanal cheese and butter maker’s 21st overall award from the SFA in the past six years.
The Sea Salt Cultured Butter, selected in the other dairy category, now has two gold sofi awards and three in total.
To produce the award-winning butter, Vermont Creamery makes it in the traditional European style, culturing it overnight and churning small batches from fresh Vermont cream, resulting in notes of buttermilk and hazelnut and a creamy texture.
"We've cultivated the craft of cultured butter over the past thirty years; it's more than a product, it's at the center of our heritage," said Adeline Druart, president of Vermont Creamery. "It's an honor to be recognized by our peers at the Specialty Food Association, and in the company of so many talented makers who share our obsession for delicious, high-quality food made with love."
Founded in 1984 and B Corp certified since 2014, Vermont Creamery’s cheeses and cultured dairy products have won numerous awards through the years. The company got started in the food service sector, selling its products to restaurant kitchens in New York. The brand began selling its dairy products to the masses three years ago.
