CHARLOTTE, NC — Process technology equipment maker SPX FLOW, Inc. shared that its APV brand received a 2025 SEAL Sustainable Innovation Award for a solution that enhances water cooling and increases efficiency.

SPX FLOW global market director, dairy and plant-based beverages, Pranav Shah called the award-winning APV Seamless Infusion Vessel a step forward for the industry.

"The APV Seamless Infusion Vessel is a game-changer, reducing fouling, extending run times and helping producers gain up to 100 extra hours annually while cutting resource consumption," Shah said.

The ultra-high-temperature (UHT) processing equipment manufacturer for dairy, plant-based and beverage producers said the APV solution replaces the traditional clamp connection with a gasket-free, seamless link between the vessel bottom and pump housing. SPX FLOW explained the innovation enhances water cooling on the pump casing and impeller. Additionally, the vessel requires fewer cleaning in place (CIP) cycles, SPX FLOW said, which helps reduce product loss and fouling, extend production runs, and increase efficiency and sustainability.

An environmental advocacy organization, SEAL Awards handed out 15 awards focused specifically on sustainable innovations this year, as part of its annual SEAL Business Sustainability Awards.

Said SEAL Awards founder and chairperson Matt Harney: "The improvements enabled by SPXFLOW – lowering product waste, energy, water and detergent consumption through fewer production cycles – captures the granularity and depth of sustainability improvements that leaders are making within business operations."

In 2024, SPX FLOW won a SEAL Sustainable Product Award for its APV Aseptic Rapid Recovery System.
