BURLINGTON, VT. — Looking to pack even more indulgence under the lids of its ice cream containers, Ben & Jerry’s developed a new line of sundaes.

The ice cream maker described the four new flavors as “over-the-top concoctions” with chunks, swirls, whipped topping and even more chunks of sweet treats for the uppermost layer.

The four new ice cream products are Cookie Vermont-ster Sundae, Dulce-Delish Sundae, Choco-lotta Cheesecake Sundae and Turtle Sundae.

Ben & Jerry’s shared that the Cookie Vermont-ster variety drew inspiration from the company’s classic scoop shop sundae. It features vanilla ice cream, chocolate chip and double chocolate chip cookies, with fudge swirls and fudge chips atop a vanilla whipped topping.

The company said its Dulce-Delish flavor might be the most indulgent of the sundaes, with salted caramel ice cream, pecan toffee pieces, caramel swirls, a caramel whipped topping, more caramel swirls and sea salt fudge chunks.

The Choco-lotta Cheesecake Sundae combines a chocolate cheesecake ice cream base with chocolate cookies and double chocolate cookie swirls, underneath a vanilla whipped topping, fudge swirls and sea salt fudge chunks.

For the Turtle Sundae, Ben & Jerry’s began with a buttery ice cream base and added fudge-covered almonds, pretzel swirls, vanilla whipped topping, caramel swirls and fudge-covered pretzel pieces.

Ben & Jerry’s flavor guru Natalia Butler said the company’s team of creators built perfect sundaes so consumers can enjoy them at home.

"I like to think of each sundae as a textural treasure hunt, starting with that thick and creamy ice cream that you already know and love, nestled below a layer of rich whipped topping and covered in the perfect balance of the most decadent swirls and chunks you have ever met," Butler said.

The four sundae flavors are launching this month at retailers throughout the United States.
