FAIRFIELD, NJ — Schuman Cheese augmented its portfolio, acquiring Trugman-Nash LLC from Allied Dairy, Inc. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
As the result of the transaction, Schuman Cheese now owns Australian cheddar brand Old Croc and exclusive distribution rights in the United States for Organic Herd British cheddar brands that are produced by Organic Milk Suppliers Co-operative.
Schuman Cheese import business manager Ian Schuman called the cheddar brands “outstanding” additions for the company.
"This acquisition strengthens our position in the specialty cheese market by adding to our best-in-class portfolio of imported cheeses from exceptional partners all over the world,” Schuman said.
Old Croc produces a variety of cheddar chunks, bites, slices and spreads made with milk sourced from grass-fed cows.
Said Schuman Cheese chief revenue officer Allison Schuman: "Part of what made this acquisition so exciting was the remarkable growth of the Old Croc brand, thanks in large part to the excellent work of Allied Dairy Inc. We look forward to building on their success and appreciate them entrusting us with the brand's stewardship."
Schuman Cheese shared that the acquisition of the Old Croc and Organic Herd brands will allow it to maintain Trugman-Nash's established retail presence.
