WASHINGTON — The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) released its second State of Women in Dairy survey, which aims to establish gender equality benchmarking data for the US dairy sector and develop recommendations for possible industry actions.

“It's crucial to identify where we need to concentrate our efforts as an industry if we're serious about making real strides toward gender equality,” said Becky Randall, senior vice president of trade and workforce policy for IDFA. “This new survey will allow us to measure the progress we've made since then and highlight areas where there is still an opportunity for improvement. We strongly encourage women and men from all sectors of the dairy industry to participate in this survey so we can hear from a more diverse set of perspectives.”

IDFA released the first-ever State of Women in Dairy report in January to dig deep into the attitudes, beliefs, behaviors and policies affecting women employed throughout the dairy supply chain, including adjacent industries.

This year, the association looks to build on the previous survey’s benchmarking to identify where progress has been made in the industry and where gaps still exist in this work.

The survey will be available until Wednesday, Nov. 6. Responses are completely anonymous and IDFA reports it takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
