PHOENIX — Dairy checkoff leaders from Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB) and the United Dairy Industry Association (UDIA) elected officers during their annual joint meeting Oct. 21-23.

DMI chair Marilyn Hershey was re-elected, while three other officers were elected to work with the organization that manages the national checkoff program.

The newly elected DMI officers are vice chair Mary Kraft, secretary Jim Reid and treasurer Becky Nyman.

NDB, which carries out coordinated promotion and research focused on building demand for dairy products and expanding their markets, elected Joanna Shipp as its chair. Members also elected vice chair Lolly Lesher, secretary Arlene VanderEyk and treasurer Justin Leyendekker.

A group comprised of dairy farmer-funded promotional organizations, UDIA chose Alex Peterson as its chair. Also elected were 1st vice chair Charles Krause, 2nd vice chair Audrey Donahoe, secretary Harold Howrigan and treasurer Kris Wardin.

Additionally, Donahoe was elected as chair for the National Dairy Council. She will work with vice chair Brian Esplin, secretary Jenni Tilton-Flood and treasurer Mike Ferguson, who were all elected this year, as well.
