LA FARGE, WIS. — Organic farmers will step into the virtual spotlight Oct. 11 as Organic Valley invites the rest of the world onto some of the cooperative’s farms – via YouTube – to celebrate National Farmers Day.
The virtual farm tour livestream from Organic Valley will bring viewers to small organic farms that are maintained by the cooperative’s farmer-owners, featuring landscapes, animals and the day-to-day operations at farms in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin.
Per Organic Valley, its farmers protect more than a half million acres of farmland in the United States from toxic pesticides, which keeps waterways clean, combats the climate crisis, and provides natural habitats for plants and animals.
This marks Organic Valley’s second year offering the interactive livestream – farmers will answer submitted questions – after it debuted in 2023 with thousands of viewers and dozens of school classrooms checking in.
The livestream can be found online at Organic Valley’s YouTube page.
