NEW BERLIN, NY — Greek yogurt, oatmilk and creamer manufacturer Chobani, citing consumers’ desire to increase their protein intake, introduced a new line of products to meet that demand.

The dairy processor’s Chobani High Protein products include both Greek yogurt cups and drinks, and are made with natural ingredients, real fruit and no added sugar.

Chobani said each yogurt cup contains 20 grams of protein, while the drinks feature 15, 20 or 30 grams of protein per serving, depending on the product. The company added that all of its high protein options are lactose free and they do not contain protein powders, concentrates or preservatives.

"The desire for high protein, lower sugar offerings has moved beyond the hardcore fitness community and made its way to the mainstream consumer," said Niel Sandfort, chief innovation officer at Chobani. "This is a good thing. Underneath the desire for more functional food is a shift in mindset where strength and positive nutrition, namely protein, is taking the place of calorie deprivation and cardio. As consumers seek out more functional foods to meet their goals, Chobani High Protein products deliver an affordable, tasty solution with dynamic flavors and a variety of formats and protein levels – all made with only natural ingredients."

The company said it crafts the products using a traditional Greek yogurt process and they are high in naturally occurring vitamin B12, explaining that the combination of protein and B12 has been shown to unlock energy, support muscle health and deliver a felling of satiation.

Chobani’s 20G Protein Greek Yogurt cups come in six flavors: Vanilla, Strawberry Kiwi, Mango, Raspberry Lemon and Cherry Berry.

The protein drinks, meanwhile, come in three sizes – 7 oz products contain 15 grams of protein, 10 oz drinks have 20 grams of protein, and the 14 oz variety packs 30 grams of protein.

Chobani 15G Protein Drinks are made in two flavors: Strawberries & Cream, and Tropical Punch. Chobani 20G Protein Drinks have more flavor options: Strawberries & Cream, Mixed Berry Vanilla, Vanilla, Cookies & Cream, Peaches & Cream, and Cherry Vanilla. And Chobani 30G Protein Drinks debut in two flavors: Strawberries & Cream, and Vanilla Ice Cream.

The Greek yogurt maker said its high protein cups will launch at retailers throughout the country in November, and the high protein drinks will launch in January 2025.
