COLUMBUS, OHIO – The formulators at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams aimed to capture what the company described as the duality of fall with a new seasonal collection.

The ice cream maker shared that it focused not only on sweet and savory flavors, but also avoiding conventional trends.

Jeni’s fall collection features four options: Bay Leaf Cheesecake, Miso Butterscotch Brownie, Pumpkin Seed & Rye Cookie, and Sweet Potato Marshmallow Brulee.

The company said its Bay Leaf Cheesecake features notes of eucalyptus, pine and vanilla, creating a “subtly herbaceous cream cheese” ice cream that includes a graham cracker swirl.

Incorporating miso into ice cream, Jeni’s shared, gives its Miso Butterscotch Brownie “a four-dimensional umami depth.” The flavor includes dark chocolate fudge brownies and miso cream. The company noted that the creation also is its first that uses a fermented product.

Spotlighting pumpkin seeds in an ice cream formulation led to a “nutty, toasty sweet cream,” Jeni’s added, explaining that the Pumpkin Seed & Rye Cookie flavor is “naturally verdant green and almost savory.”

While the other three flavors are completely new, the company said it updated its popular sweet potato ice cream by adding candied pecans to a marshmallow-scented swirl in its Sweet Potato Marshmallow Brulee.

The ice cream maker launched its new fall collection at its scoop shops, as well as at its online store and select grocery stores.
