WASHINGTON — The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) promoted Matt Herrick to a new role, naming him executive vice president, chief impact officer.
IDFA shared that Herrick, formerly the organization’s senior vice president, public affairs and communications, will still oversee public affairs and communications, and keep managing the IDFA Foundation.
Herrick’s new responsibilities include coordinating IDFA’s efforts to drive policy, advocacy, communications and social impact strategies. IDFA said that will involve working jointly with its executive team members, as well as industry experts.
“IDFA’s team is working every day to make a meaningful difference for dairy by delivering impactful results across the entire dairy supply chain for our members,” said the association’s president and chief executive officer, Michael Dykes. “We are excited to continue to elevate our advocacy, communications and membership efforts for our IDFA members.”
Dykes said Herrick’s role will focus on six key areas: membership value, nutrition, markets and trade, workforce, sustainability, and technology.
Per IDFA, Herrick will develop “programming and services that help members manage their reputation and navigate an evolving dairy marketplace.” He also will partner on “creative solutions that enhance US dairy’s competitiveness, including rebuilding confidence in trade agreements.”
The organization said it aims to elevate its impact with a cross-functional approach as it addresses government and regulatory relations, grassroots engagement, strategic communications and relationships, polling and research, and membership programming and workforce development.
