SPRINGFIELD, MO. – Hiland Dairy Foods promoted a pair of the company’s leaders, naming Greg Helbig senior vice president of operations and Clay Powell vice president of operations.
Most recently director of operations, Helbig oversaw all 18 of the company’s manufacturing facilities in that role.
A Highland Dairy employee for nearly four decades, Helbig first joined the company in 1985, when he worked in the quality assurance lab. Through the years, he also worked as plant supervisor and corporate quality control manager.
Rick Beaman, president of Hiland Dairy, said Helbig’s experience and vision will be “crucial” as the company keeps enhancing its operations.
"Greg Helbig's deep understanding of our operations and unwavering commitment to quality make him an invaluable asset to our leadership team,” Beaman said.
The Springfield, Mo.-based company shared that Helbig serves as president of the Missouri Dairy Products Association and is involved with the Missouri State Milk Board and the QCS Purchasing Group.
Powell possesses 35 years of food manufacturing experience, taking on roles such as supervisor, buyer, plant manager and improvement director during his career. An operations manager for Hiland Dairy prior to his promotion, Powell first got into the industry with Hiland Dairy in 1989 before working elsewhere. He returned to the company in 2023.
Said Beaman: "Clay Powell is a tremendous asset to Hiland Dairy. His broad experience and leadership skills will help us drive strategic initiatives and improve our operations. Clay's focus on continuous improvement and capital investments aligns perfectly with our goals for the future."
