SAN FRANCISCO – McConnell's Fine Ice Creams revealed a new collaboration with candy and chocolate maker See's Candies that involved the two California-based sweets specialists creating four limited time ice cream flavors.

The companies said the new McConnell's x See's products are set to launch June 28 in limited quantities at the ice cream maker’s scoop shops, as well as online at McConnell’s website.

While creating the special edition ice creams, McConnell’s and See’s said their teams worked together to pair some of See’s most popular pieces with McConnell’s artisan ice cream bases.

The four new flavors are Vanilla with California Brittle, Coffee with Molasses Chips, Chocolate with Polar Bear Paws, and Banana Cream with Toffee-ettes.

The Vanilla with California Brittle features See’s almond brittle covered in dark chocolate, vanilla ice cream, chocolate ganache and salt-roasted almonds. Coffee with Molasses Chips contains molasses honeycomb wafers that See’s coats in chocolate, as well as coffee-infused, grass-fed milk and cream, and swirls of chocolate sauce. Chocolate with Polar Bear Paws includes caramel, peanuts, white chocolate, peanut butter swirl and McConnell’s Dutchman’s Chocolate ice cream. Banana Cream with Toffee-ettes incorporates pureed bananas, swirls of salted caramel, and See’s Toffee-ettes, which are made with almonds, Danish butter toffee and milk chocolate.

McConnell's Fine Ice Creams chief executive officer and co-owner Michael Palmer predicted the limited-time flavors will sell quickly.

"Truly successful collaborations are dependent on so many things going right,” Palmer said. “And on that front, this is a dream. For starters, both McConnell's and See's have incredible histories as heritage, California brands. But it's the alignment on product that makes this so exciting. The combination of See's incredible candies and our delicious ice creams is unmatched.”

Likewise, See's Candies president and CEO Pat Egan said the company was thrilled to partner with McConnell’s.

"When we started talking about the partnership and tasting different combinations, we couldn't narrow it down,” Egan said. “We're both so excited for our customers to try them all. We kept thinking we could pick a favorite, but each one was uniquely great — perfectly in line with both brands.”
