MORTON GROVE, ILL. – Cultured milk and cheese manufacturer Lifeway Foods, Inc.’s Farmer Cheese picked up one of Good Housekeeping’s 2024 Best Snack Awards, earning the title of best farmer’s cheese in the Protein-Packed Favorites category.

Known best for its signature kefir products, Lifeway said its Farmer Cheese tastes similar to cottage cheese, but spreads like cream cheese and comes with the added benefits of 12 live and active probiotics, as well as 13 grams of protein per serving.

The company said the small batch dry curd product is up to 99% free of lactose, completely gluten-free and contains no added salt.

Lifeway also shared that its Farmer Cheese can be added as a creamy texture in pastas, a probiotic boost in breakfasts or a “bold accent” to savory meals. The company added that the product may be used in place of blended cottage cheese in recipes, as well as a high protein cream cheese substitute.
