MADISON, WIS. – As a way to celebrate National Cheese Lover’s Day, the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Cheese announced the launch of a contest developed to make the dairy dreams of cheese fans come true.
Promoting the product for which the state is known, the organizations want to find out about the grand designs of cheese connoisseurs throughout the United States, via the Wisconsin Cheese Dreams Contest.
"We're so fortunate to be surrounded by the deeply rooted cheese culture in Wisconsin – artisan cheesemaking established before Wisconsin became a state, the only Master Cheesemaker program (Ph.D. in cheese) outside of Switzerland, chefs honoring artisanal cheeses in featured dishes, and it doesn't stop there," said Suzanne Fanning, chief marketing officer at Wisconsin Cheese. "Wisconsin dreams in cheese and if you are as obsessed with cheese as we are, we want to hear from you."
The contest calls upon cheese lovers to answer two questions:
• What is a Wisconsin cheese experience you have always wanted to have but never thought would be possible?
• How can Wisconsin cheese plus up your happiest moment of 2024?
Fans may enter the contest by uploading 15- to 45-second videos with their answers. The videos may be submitted either via Instagram by tagging @wisconsincheese and using the hashtag #wisconsincheesedream or by visiting the Wisconsin Cheese website.
The contest is open from Jan. 20 (Cheese Lover’s Day) through Feb. 14. Wisconsin Cheese said grand prizes will be delivered on or around National Cheese Day on June 4. Along with two grand prizes, the organization also plans to deliver special boxes of Wisconsin cheeses to 100 randomly selected entrants.
