6 – Sargento announces new roles, promotions
Cheese manufacturer Sargento Foods Inc. announced new roles for six members of its company. The family-owned cheese maker’s new platform development team within its innovation division got a new senior vice president in Rod Hogan, as well as a new vice president in Holly Baumgart. (Jan. 19)
5 – Walmart to open milk processing plant in Georgia
Walmart revealed it plans to build and operate a milk processing facility in Valdosta, Ga. The $350 million facility is scheduled to open in 2025 and create close to 400 new jobs in the community. (Oct. 11)
4 – DFA withdraws IDFA membership over FMMO petition
Dairy Farmers of America, the largest dairy cooperative in the US, withdrew its membership from the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) over IDFA's petition to modify the federal milk marketing order system. (June 20)
3 – Kemps launches kid-friendly cottage cheese
Kemps took the curds out of cottage cheese and added blended fruit – creating a dairy product similar to yogurt – when formulating its new Smooth Cottage Cheese for kids. (Feb. 8)
2 – Newly formed College Circle Creamery makes acquisition
College Hill Capital Partners announced the formation of a better-for-you dairy and plant-based frozen dessert company that the private equity firm is calling College Circle Creamery. (March 8)
1 – DFA and Good Culture develop new probiotic milk
Dairy Farmers of America partnered with Good Culture to produce a new lactose-free milk formulated with a probiotic to support digestive and immune health. (Feb. 22)
