TWIN FALLS, IDAHO – The Idaho Milk Processors Association (IMPA) announced Travis Jones will become the first executive director in the organization’s 95-year history.
Set to embark on the new role Jan. 1, 2024, Jones will report to the IMPA board of directors. The association said he will lead its efforts locally and nationally, implement the board’s vision, plan IMPA’s annual summer conference and work to expand the organization’s regional membership.
Currently a principal at Riley Stegner & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in agriculture and natural resource policy, Jones’ career experience includes agriculture, public policy and strategic planning.
“The opportunity to work for and with Idaho’s dairy industry is both exciting and humbling,” Jones said. “Idaho’s dairy farm families and milk products businesses are world-class, and I am eager to contribute to their continued success.”
IMPA president Shawn Burton said hiring an executive director demonstrates the nonprofit’s “confidence in achieving a stronger future” for its members.
“I see our region as a true leader in dairy, and in the face of rapid industry changes, Travis Jones is the ideal person to support our membership, helping them navigate change and innovate for the future,” Burton said.
