Hudsonville Ice Cream partnered with McKee Foods Corp. to roll out a line of ice cream flavors featuring Little Debbie brand snack cakes.
The snack cakes-inspired ice cream is available in seven flavors: Oatmeal Crème Pies, Cosmic Brownies, Zebra Cakes, Honey Buns, Strawberry Shortcake Rolls, Swiss Rolls and Nutty Bars.
Chobani launched a line of plant-based coffee creamers formulated with cane sugar, sunflower oil and medium-chain triglycerides oil from coconut. Flavors include caramel macchiato, chocolate hazelnut, French vanilla, and sweet and creamy.
Silk chocolate almond milk frozen dessert is a new flavor available at Cold Stone Creamery, a Kahala Brands business unit. It was developed in partnership with Danone SA, the owner of the Silk brand.
Breyers introduced three new ice cream flavors: M&M’s MINIS Caramel Fudge, Breyers Very Berry Cobbler and Breyers Banana Split. Additionally, Breyers rolled out two new CarbSmart choices: Brownie a la Mode and Mint Fudge Cookie.
American music legend Dolly Parton’s popular signature ice cream flavor, Strawberry Pretzel Pie, returned for Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. The limited edition dessert, which sold out during its debut launch in April of 2021, dovetailed with the release of Parton’s new album, “Run, Rose, Run.”
Nestle’s Carnation brand reduced the added sugars content in its Breakfast Essentials original nutritional drinks and powder drink mixes by 25%.
Danone North America partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to launch a pair of coffee creamers inspired by “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” International Delight Wonka Whipple Scrumptious Fudgy Caramel Creamer, along with a zero-sugar option, were made available for a limited time at major retailers nationwide.
Renewal Mill, an upcycled ingredient supplier, partnered with small-batch ice cream maker Salt & Straw to develop a new non-dairy flavor, chocolate salted caramel cupcake. Available for a limited time, the frozen dessert was produced with an oat base, sea salt, salted caramel frosting and dark chocolate brownie cupcake pieces.
Silk’s line of non-dairy products has a new addition: Silk Extra Creamy Almondmilk. The recipe for the latest Silk beverage features a blend of three types of almonds.
Minerva Dairy and Goldbelly teamed up to make two limited-edition butter flavors available nationwide: Everything Bagel Butter and Lemon Poppy Seed Butter.
Ben & Jerry’s introduced two new ice cream concoctions for its Topped line, which features a fudgy ganache layer atop the desserts: Topped Chocolate Milk & Cookies and Topped Dirt Cake.
New Babybel Plant-Based was designed to follow in the footsteps of traditional Babybel, and developed to taste like mozzarella. The dairy alternative is certified plant-based and vegan, as well as non-GMO project verified. Rather than Babybel’s classic red wax coating, Babybel Plant-Based will come with a green coating.
Chobani broadened its product portfolio with the introduction of ultra-filtered milk and half and half. The ultra-filtered milk is lactose-free and available in whole, reduced fat 2%, fat free and chocolate varieties. The half and half is available in plain and lactose-free varieties.
Specialty cheese purveyor FrieslandCampina introduced Royal Hollandia cheeses to the United States for the first time. The premium-quality Dutch cheeses got their US debut at the Winter Fancy Food Show, in Las Vegas.
Hood announced the relaunch of its New England Creamery ice creams, which are available in quart-sized quantities in 13 flavors: Boston Vanilla Bean, Bear Creek Caramel, Berkshire Vanilla, Cape Cod Fudge Shop, Martha's Vineyard Black Raspberry, Nantucket Nutty Cone, Mystic Seaport Chocolate, Down East Double Fudge Brownie, Rhode Island Lighthouse Coffee, Green Mountain Mint Chip, Mt. Washington Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Maine Sweet Blueberry and New England Homemade Style Vanilla.
Majestic Brand Organic Butter arrived in dairy aisles for the first time in February. The butter comes in salted and unsalted, and can be used for cooking, baking and spreading.
Nestle took the Outshine brand beyond the freezer aisle and into the shelf-stable category with new fruit and yogurt smoothie pouches. Featuring fruit blended with non-fat yogurt, the snacks are available in blueberry pear, peach raspberry, strawberry coconut and pear vanilla varieties.
Silk expanded its line of plant-based creamers, adding Silk Enhanced Almond Creamers and Silk Sweet Oat Latte Creamer. The enhanced almond creamers feature a protein boost for consumers to mix into their coffee, with 4 grams of protein per 4-tablespoon serving.
Truly Grass Fed debuted its new spreadable butter tubs at the 2022 Winter Fancy Food Show in Las Vegas. The spreadable butter is the latest addition to Truly Grass Fed’s portfolio. It has just two ingredients: fresh sweet cream sourced from grass-fed cows and salt.
Ben & Jerry’s once again leaned into its reputation for chunky and quirky ingredients with its newest ice cream flavor, Chewy Gooey Cookie. The company’s latest creation features both milk chocolate and coconut ice creams, as well as fudge flakes, shortbread cookies and caramel swirls.
Boursin announced it is bringing its Garlic & Fine Herbs flavor to two new formats, with Boursin Bites and Boursin Cooking Cream.
Dairy-free brand Daiya announced the addition of a new Italian 4 Cheeze Style Blend to its line of plant-based Cutting Board Shreds. The latest commodity from the company is made with chickpea and comprised of Daiya’s shredded Parmesan and Mozzarella, as well as the brand’s new Provolone and Asiago flavors to complete the Italian style combination.
An animal-free milk to be marketed under the Betterland Cow-Free Milk brand is set to make its debut. The beverage is formulated using Berkeley, Calif.-based Perfect Day, Inc.’s, animal-free dairy protein.
Brave Robot, a startup from The Urgent Co., expanded its line of animal-free dairy ice cream with three more flavors: chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate cherry brownie and mint chocolate chip.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams announced the upcoming return of its unorthodox flavor, Everything Bagel. The company first debuted its cream cheese, sesame, poppy seed, onion and garlic streusel ice cream in early 2021. The offbeat flavor is set to become available once again on March 21.
