BERKELEY, CALIF. – Ripple Foods packed more punch into its latest dairy alternative beverage, the newly released Oatmilk + Protein.
Making use of pea protein, each serving of the drink contains 6 grams of plant-based protein, as well as 50% less sugar and 50% more calcium than a serving of dairy milk. The new Oatmilk + Protein is gluten-free, 100% vegan and certified non-GMO.
“There are many consumers who like the taste and texture of oatmilk, but the reality is they are disappointed in the nutritional profile, specifically the lack of protein," said Laura Flanagan, chief executive officer of Ripple Foods. "Ripple is changing the game so that those who like oatmilk, can now really love it, as Ripple's version of oatmilk provides three times more protein than regular oatmilk, along with the great taste and creamy texture people expect.”
Listed at a suggested retail price of $5.99 per bottle, the Oatmilk + Protein beverage already is available at such stores as Whole Foods Market, Jewel and Albertson’s Southern Division. It is set to be sold at Target, Sprouts and other retailers beginning this summer.
Berkely, Calif.-based Ripple Foods uses protein from yellow peas to create milks, protein shakes, creamers and frozen desserts.
