LEOMINSTER, MASS. – IMA Dairy & Food USA announced it hired materials science engineering specialist Robert Lindsey as a project manager to oversee a variety of the company’s ongoing projects involving sophisticated packaging processes in the dairy and food sectors.
Lindsey joined IMA Dairy & Food after spending 10-plus years with Sulzer Mixpac USA as an applications engineer. Earlier in his career, he was an applications engineer for Epoxy Technology, an adhesives specialist that serves the aerospace industry and other high-leverage sectors
Lindsey earned a degree in mechanical polymer engineering from the University of Akron, in Ohio.
“Robert’s extensive engineering expertise will help IMA continue to introduce forward-thinking solutions in the dairy and greater food packaging landscape,” said Patrick Carroll, president of IMA Dairy & Food. “As our footprint in North America expands, our talented team of materials science specialists grows as well.”
With brands Gasti, Hamba, Hassia, Fillshape, Corazza, Erca and Intecma, IMA Dairy & Food specializes in packaging solutions. IMA recently introduced an innovation called “zero technology,” which produces single-serve, sustainability-minded PET cups for dairy and other food items – long considered a challenge in food and beverage materials science.
IMA’s various packaging machine applications include filling and sealing machines (FS) for preformed cups and bottles; forming, filling and sealing machines (FFS) for packaging products in the food, dairy and beverage segments; filling systems for flexible stand-up pouches with and without spout for dairy, food, beverage and personal care sectors; and wrapping machines for packaging butter, fresh cheese, soup cubes, yeast, margarine and more.
