WAUCONDA, ILL. – Synergy Flavors, Inc., extended the capabilities of the R&D laboratories inside its Synergy US headquarters.
The expansion project for the flavors, extracts and essences supplier increased the workspace across three dedicated applications facilities, established a nutrition laboratory, and allowed its beverage applications facility to relocate and expand.
New additions to the headquarters in Wauconda, Ill., also included a beverage thermal processing pilot plant, with microthermics capabilities, a flavor creation lab and a flavor research and technology lab to bolster innovations.
Scaling up also allowed Synergy to expand its analytical chemistry and sensory spaces, as well as enlarge conference rooms and tasting table areas for collaborating.
“We are excited about the new additions to our research and development space at Synergy and look forward to continuously investing in our R&D facility to better serve our customers and employees alike,” said Mike Brown, vice president of research, development and innovation at Synergy Flavors. “We look forward to working side by side with our customers in this inviting new space.”
The expansion of the R&D labs was part of Synergy Flavors’ series of facilities updates, which began in 2018. Customers are welcome in the new space, with safety protocols aligning with the CDC and local government in place.
Synergy Flavors is part of the Irish-based Carbery Group, an international food ingredients and cheese company.
