PARSIPPANY, NJ – Valio USA announced that they are broadening their product offering after unveiling new oat-based yogurts at the Natural Products Expo East in Philadelphia. Known for its Finlandia brand of cheeses and butter, Valio created the innovative alternative yogurt line as part of a growing suite of plant-based products made with simple ingredients under the playful brand name ‘Oddlygood.’
According to a March 2021 taste test conducted by Curion, a Northern California consumer products testing firm, the yogurts earned top scores for flavor, texture and aroma.
Coming in plain, vanilla, blueberry and raspberry flavors, the yogurts come in single-serve containers and are sold in 12-pack cases. Ranging from 110-120 calories per container, each yogurt has 3 grams of protein per serving and contains live and active cultures. The yogurt is made from an oat blend of water, gluten-free oat flour, cane sugar, pea protein and other ingredients depending on the flavor and is enriched with vitamins (B12 and D2) and minerals.
“Our Oddlygood yogurt alternatives are dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan, not to mention creamy and delicious,” said Mari Meriluoto, director of marketing and business development for Valio USA, formerly known as Finlandia Cheese, Inc.
In addition to oat yogurt, Oddlygood’s offerings, which are now sold in Finland, Sweden, Russia and Baltic countries, include Original Oat Drink, Barista Edition for coffee, cooking ingredients and plant-based sliced and shredded mozzarella, cheddar, gouda and smoked gouda plant-based cheeses.
