McLEAN, VA. — Food safety and hygienic equipment nonprofit 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI) introduced its new executive director, Meri Beth Wojtaszek.

The former deputy executive director of programs and membership for the Solid Waste Association of North America, Wojtaszek joined 3-A SSI with 20-plus years of leadership experience in association management.

The independent corporation shared that Wojtaszek’s career expertise also included managing technical programs and diverse stakeholder relationships.

3-A SSI board chair John Kuhnz said the organization was thrilled to welcome Wojtaszek.

"Her proven experience in stakeholder engagement and organizational leadership makes her the ideal person to advance 3-A SSI's mission of promoting food safety through hygienic equipment design and standards,” Kuhnz said.

Wojtaszek said she was excited to join 3-A SSI and work with its team, as well as volunteers and members.

"The organization's commitment to advancing food safety through equipment standards and design criteria is more important than ever, and I look forward to building on its strong foundation to create new opportunities for growth and impact in the food and beverage industries,” she said.

Organizations that are 3-A SSI members include the International Dairy Foods Association, Food Production Solutions Association and International Association for Food Protection. Representatives from the US Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration also are involved.
