HERNDON, VA. – The Packaging & Processing Women’s Leadership Network (PPWLN) shared that the keynote speaker for its Pack Expo Las Vegas event will be Manjit Minhas, co-founder and chief executive officer at Minhas Breweries, Distilleries and Winery, in Alberta, Canada.
Minhas, set to share her career insights during PPWLN’s breakfast event on Sept. 12, got started as an entrepreneur at 19, and has since helped lead the business to achieve $220 million in revenues, with more than 90 brands of beer, spirits, liqueurs and wines.
"Her journey from a young entrepreneur to an industry leader is inspiring, and her insights will benefit women in packaging and processing fields, whether you are an established leader or a student just entering the industry,” said Tracy Stout, vice president, marketing and communications, for PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, which produces Pack Expo.
The PPWLN breakfast will begin at 7:30 am on Sept. 12, in room N-247 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. PMMI shared that students who attend the breakfast are invited to stay afterward and take a tour of the show floor with PPWLN leaders.
Minhas’ achievements in packaging include creating a special 48-can pack for COSTCO that reduced materials with its eco-friendly design. Plus, her company’s beer brands use minimal packaging materials with the environment in mind.
She also is credited with becoming the first brewer in Canada to add a management warning on all beer cans in order to urge against drinking and driving and advise expectant mothers to avoid alcoholic products.
Registration details for the PPWLN event are available at the Pack Expo website.
