LOS ANGELES — Tea Drops is debuting a collection of at-home tea latte and bubble tea kits, featuring the brand’s signature bagless, dissolvable tea blends. The products are debuting exclusively at select Target stores nationwide.
The chai latte kit and ube latte kit contain sweetened condensed milk packets made by Copper Cow Coffee. The matcha bubble tea kit includes brown sugar boba packets and biodegradable boba straws. Each kit has three servings.
“I founded Tea Drops with the belief that tea can be a transformative and creative experience — our new latte and bubble tea kits allow you to create cafe-quality tea experiences conveniently at-home,” said Sashee Chandran, founder and chief executive officer of Tea Drops.
Tea Drops uses organic and fair trade ingredients in its blends. Chandran created the concept in her home kitchen about a decade ago as part of a personal mission to eliminate the tradeoffs of traditional tea. She preferred the flavor and aroma of loose-leaf tea, but a demanding corporate job provided little time to properly steep and enjoy a cup. Bagged styles, meanwhile, lacked taste and created waste, she found. She patented and launched Tea Drops in 2015.
“Target is constantly pushing the boundaries of beverage innovation, and the addition of Tea Drops to their assortment positions Target as a true leader in the at-home cafe trend we are seeing,” Chandran said. “The bubble tea market will reach $4.5 billion by 2026, so the introduction of Tea Drops’ bubble tea kits in the category is a trend defining move.”
