MADISON, WIS. – Anyone hoping to reserve a spot at a new cheese-themed luxury spa will have to keep dreaming.
Although Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin put together a website and some promotional materials for a destination called Wedgewater Spa, it was all part of an April Fools’ Day gag.
Welcoming people to experience “high-end cheese therapy,” the faux spa offered such “indulgences” as “fromage facials,” a “salt brine bliss colonic,” “raw milk baths,” “rind scrubs,” “Limburger moisturizing mist,” a “Gouda wax” and a “fromage massage.”
More details about the fictional resort can be found on the Wedgewater Spa website.
Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin is a non-profit organization that markets and promotes the state’s dairy products.
