MADISON, WIS. – The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) hired Ryan Dunn to become its manager of business operations.
Dunn replaced Sara Schmidt in the role. WCMA shared that Schmidt is now its member engagement manager.
Before joining WCMA, Dunn worked for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection as a grants manager in its division of agricultural development, where he oversaw the distribution of almost $12 million in grant funds each year.
"We’re pleased to welcome Ryan to WCMA,” said John Umhoefer, the association’s executive director. “His skills and attention to detail will be valuable assets as we offer our members exciting new opportunities to build and strengthen their businesses.”
Per WCMA, the new roles support its latest offerings and programs. In the past year, WCMA expanded its member benefits, adding direct business development support, free onboarding and recruitment videos, a new health and safety group, and industry trainings.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the WCMA team,” Dunn said. “I look forward to putting my experience and talents to work to serve the dairy processing industry.”
