ATLANTA – Yuengling’s Ice Cream Corporation announced a new licensing agreement with GPO Plus, Inc., which will develop CBD and other hemp-derived cannabinoid products based on some of the ice cream maker’s most popular flavors.
Chuck Green, Yuengling’s incoming president and chief executive officer, said the company is planning to relaunch its ice cream in the spring of 2023, and its leaders have been pinpointing “different ways to leverage the Yuengling’s brand.”
“A licensing agreement must be with a quality organization with great products,” Green said. “(GPO Plus) fits both those criteria."
Current president and CEO Robert Bohorad, who will become chief operating officer and chief financial officer as Yuengling’s makes shifts in its leadership structure, said after he got the process started, Green “has been instrumental” in advancing talks and getting the new agreement in place.
GPO Plus CEO Brett H. Pojunis described himself as “beyond excited” to team with Yuengling’s Ice Cream “and be tasked to develop the new CBD and Cannabinoid products for such a storied, well known legacy brand.”
GPO Plus’ DISTRO+ division represents a variety of brands that use best in class ingredients to make hemp derived products.
