WHITE PLAINS, NY – Danone North America announced Greek yogurt brand Two Good is debuting a new line of smoothies. The cultured dairy drink is launching in three flavors – Mixed Berry, Strawberry Banana and Peach – and is made with real fruit puree.
Per Two Good, its smoothies contain at least 80% less sugar (3 grams per 7 fluid oz) than average cultured dairy drinks (19 grams per 7 fluid oz). The Non-GMO Project verified products are made without artificial sweeteners and contain 10 grams of protein, no added sugar and 5 grams of carbs.
"As more consumers look for products in the yogurt drinks segment to meet their on-the-go lifestyle and lower sugar needs, we saw an opportunity to launch a new product to deliver on those growing needs," said Surbhi Martin, vice president of marketing, Greek yogurt and functional wellness, for Danone North America. "Since our launch as a brand, we've been proud to offer delicious products with significantly lower sugar, and we're excited to expand our portfolio and introduce our latest innovation, Two Good Smoothies.”
Part of the brand’s model includes partnering with food rescue organizations City Harvest of New York City and We Don't Waste of Denver to provide food for people who need it. For every unit sold, Two Good donates 1¢ to the organizations. So far, Danone North America shared, the brand has contributed to more than 40 million meals for people dealing with food insecurity.
The brand’s smoothies are now available at select grocery stores and retailers throughout the US, with a suggested retail price of $1.89 per bottle.
