BANGOR, MAINE – Pineland Farms Dairy secured a gold medal at the 2022 American Cheese Society Judging and Competition.

The Maine-based company, which produces all natural dairy products for retail and foodservice, had the top scoring cheese in the open cheeses with flavor added (all milks) category, with its first-place aged cheddar.

Pineland Farms Dairy’s award-winner featured a blend of onions and garlic. The company described the variety as smooth and creamy, and well suited for cheese boards and snacking.

The dairy, which began making cheese close to two decades ago, supports local farmers by using fresh Maine milk to handcraft its specialty products.

The ACS competition allotted gold, silver and bronze medals in 120 cheese categories. A complete list of the 380 awards bestowed this year can be found online at the ACS website.
