Prairie Farms closing an Illinois facility

EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. – Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. decided to close its ice cream production facility in Decatur, Ill.

Company spokesperson Darin Copeland told media outlets that Prairie Farms opted to shift ice cream production from the Decatur plant to another one owned by the company.

The closing is expected to impact between 30 to 35 employees. Copeland said they will have opportunities to apply for other jobs with the company.
