MOUNT HOLLY, VT. — With 200 years’ worth of history at their fingertips, the specialists at Crowley Cheese are accessing their archives to help celebrate the longstanding company’s bicentennial this year.

Crowley Cheese shared that it is bringing back some of its most beloved flavors for a limited time this holiday season.

The cheese maker’s president and co-owner, Galen Jones, revealed the special return of the brand’s Caraway, Dill and Salsa cheeses.

Originally established by the Crowley family in Healdville, Vermont, in 1824, the company is known for its rinsed curd cheddar style cheese, which has been handmade using the same traditional methods –in small batches, using raw milk and the original recipe – for two centuries.

The company noted its cheese is technically a cheddar variant, describing the product as moister, faster-ageing and less acidic than typical cheddar, and possessing “exceptional” melting properties.

“We are excited to make these archival flavors available for a limited time this holiday season,” Jones said of the Caraway, Dill and Salsa varieties returning.

Crowley Cheese said its aged cheeses reach peak sharpness in three to four years, and its portfolio of flavored cheeses includes favorites such as Garlic Chive and Sage.
